How your data is protected, what is visible, and how you maintain full control over your information.

Our Data Commitment

KAWOMcommerce exists to help community members and trusted partners connect directly. We collect only what is necessary to verify identity and publish your trade listing. We never sell your personal information or track you for external advertising.

1. Information We Collect

Account & Profile Details: When you register as a church member or guest, we store your full name, email address, phone number, and branch affiliation.
Listing Information: The title, description, category, starting rates, availability, portfolio images, and WhatsApp contact number you provide for your directory listings.
Vouching Records: For guest profiles, records of the verified church members who vouched for your identity and character.
Usage & Security Data: Standard authentication logs and timestamps necessary to keep your account secure and prevent unauthorized access.

2. What is Publicly Visible

Directory Listings: Your business or skill title, description, category, starting rates, portfolio images, and WhatsApp contact button.
Vouch Badges: A verification badge indicating whether your listing is from a verified church member or an approved vouched guest.
Referral Cards: If you set your listing to 'Referable', external prospective clients can view your public digital card when someone shares your link.

3. What is Strictly Private and Never Public

Church Records: Attendance, tithes, offerings, giving history, and pastoral notes are strictly confidential and are NEVER accessed, displayed, or shared on KAWOMcommerce.
Personal Identifiers: Your home address, date of birth, password hash, and personal email address are never displayed on public listings or sold to any third party.
Zero Data Monetization: We never sell, rent, or trade your contact or personal data to marketing agencies or advertisers.

4. Direct Contact & Zero Intermediation

Client Inquiries: When a client or member contacts you, they connect directly to your WhatsApp account or phone. Conversations and transactions happen between you and the client.
No Financial Processing: KAWOMcommerce does not collect, process, or store credit card numbers, bank account logins, or transaction payment details.

5. Your Rights and Controls

Edit at Any Time: You can update your listing details, photos, rates, and contact numbers at any time from your account dashboard (/me).
Visibility Settings: You can set any listing to 'Private' (only visible to you) or 'Referable' (shareable with external clients) whenever you choose.
Deletion & Removal: You can delete any listing or request account deactivation at any time. Upon deletion, your listing is immediately removed from public search.

6. Data Security & Governance

Row-Level Security (RLS): All database records are strictly protected with database-level security policies. Users can only edit their own listings and profile data.
Compliance: We adhere to the principles of the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and international privacy best practices regarding transparency, lawful processing, and data dignity.
